About the Studio:

 

ROBYNN STOKES – Owner/Director
Robynn has been teaching at Danceland for the past 16 years. As a student at Danceland, she competed in numerous regional & national competitions where she was awarded many high score awards. Robynn earned her degree in Theatre Arts with an emphasis on dance at Old Dominion University. While at ODU she performed with the Monarch Dance Team, University Dance Theatre and was a soloist for the ODU Ballet.

Robynn became the owner of Danceland II School of Dance in 2000. She teaches ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, pointe, & modern at various levels as well as being the artistic director of the Danceland II Performing Company. Her dancers have won numerous high score awards at the regional and national level. Robynn’s choreography has also been recognized with many “Best Choreography” awards. When not at the studio Robynn spends her time traveling around the country judging dance competitions & teaching master classes at other dance studios.

 


NICOLE SCUDERI
Nicole has been teaching dance for 15 years. As a child and teen, Nicole had the opportunity to train with master teacher Denise Presto in Jupiter, FL. Under Ms. Presto’s direction, Nicole performed in such productions as The Wiz and Cats at Club Med and throughout the state of Florida.

For the past 15 years, Nicole has called Danceland II her home. In addition to teaching ballet, tap, and jazz, she also teaches and choreographs for the Danceland II Performing Company. Nicole’s company dances have won numerous high score awards at both regional and national competitions.

 

 

JOHNNY MANZELLA
Johnny has been dancing since the age of 5. As a child he attended the Old Donation Center for the Gifted and Talented for dance. He is certified to teach jazz by Dance Masters of America and has been a member since 2003. Johnny has performed and choreographed hip-hop routines for many functions including cotillions, recitals, and competitions. As a performer, Johnny has been awarded top awards at various competitions. He is currently teaching hip-hop to all ages at Danceland II and is attending Norfolk State University for Music.
 

 

 

 

JOANIE MARIE POWELL
Originally from Danville Virginia Joanie began dancing and teaching under the direction of Vikki Rimmer. After graduating in 1995 she continued her dance education attending Old Dominion University as a dance major. There she studied with the ODU Ballet under the direction of Istvan Ament. With the ballet she danced parts in the Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Snow White. While at ODU she also preformed with the ODU Dance Theatre.

Joanie has been teaching with Danceland since 2000. She continues to further her dance education and is currently studying Pilates.


 

 

KRISTI RINCK – Program Director
Kristi, a native from Virginia Beach, began dancing at Danceland at age 6. At age 8 she joined the competition team and continued her dance education over the next 14 years. She has trained under reputable choreographers such as Frank Hatchet and Karen Herbert. Kristi teaches ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical as well as manages the pre-school program at Danceland II. Kristi also holds a degree in Marketing from Old Dominion University.

 

 

 

 

KRYSTLE BURKE
Krystle has been dancing since the age of 5. She was a member of the Danceland II Performing Company and was a high score award winning soloist. She is a graduate of the Governor’s School for the Performing Arts Dance Department where she was given the opportunity to dance at the High School Dance Festival and perform many solo roles. Krystle now teaches ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical at Danceland while pursuing her college degree.

 

 

 

 

ALEX GEORGHIOU, CHELSEA GREENE, AND SARAH HUGHES
Alex, Chelsea and Sarah are the student teachers at Danceland II School of Dance. They are all award winning members of the Danceland II Performing Company. In addition to being wonderful dancers they are all honor students & very involved in their high schools. These three girls are wonderful role models for all Danceland dancers.
